This Quiet Burn by Apryl Skies

silence burns
parchment turns to ash
punishment serves no purpose
without redemption

reticence ignites
structures rust beneath torrid winds
elements corrode hollow walls
to wayward distance

silence ablaze
melting ice of another day
washed away, a brackish lake
white noise marks its place

searing hush turns over like tide
as archways burn
trust rusts between the lines
of inaudible destruction

silence burns precious days to ash
banishing a sun's simple ray
treasures lost, washed along
deserted shores

bridges decay beneath our feet
quietude cold,
sheets of relentless snow
and sudden flame.
