Have you ever heard the story of how the crows were once white?
Singed by the vengeance of the Sun God
and so turned as black as night
Righteously wrought to wrong the right - back and back ag’in
Silent Q(wills) blot day to night – sqwaking against the violent sin
Of eye for eye and tooth for tooth
Or deeper minds untold, Forsooth!
How cold must hearts of men become
Before they hear the distant hum
Of wiser voices on the wind
High above the raucous din
Cawing their way through morning’s night
Eternally lancing into the light
